Picking up where I left off a few hours ago . . .
When we got to Fort Macleod, Ian provided us with gas, for which we were extremely grateful. Later, as we rolled toward Lethbridge, Dan checked our email to find emails from CTV and CBC Radio One, as well as some other radio stations looking for interviews. We were pretty excited about that.
Upon arriving in Lethbridge, we quickly headed over to Dan’s house and cleaned up before heading down to Galt Gardens, where we started to do some shamelessly self promotional busking -
We also put on some Asbestos suits that Dan had, but they were unbelievably hot, which I guess isn’t all that shocking. I was pretty stoked that we made $6.50 busking till Dan told me he put in five bucks.
Then the CTV people showed up, which made me play kind of badly, and they interviewed us and took some footage, so we were really happy about that. The News Anchor and Camera-man even gave us some money to make up for my unsuccessful busking. The piece airs in Calgary and Lethbridge on CTV on the 5pm news. Then we took some footage of my song “Hearing Aids” in an extra special location -
After that we found some assistance in fixing our shark fin to the top of our car, which is something we had been trying to figure out for a while. I thought they did a pretty great job, but my confidence was slightly shaken with their parting words, which were “Well, let us know where you are when it flies off the car.”.
Well, that’s pretty much it for tonight. As great as the last week has been, I can’t wait to get out into the provinces where I haven’t traveled as much. Hopefully the car will hold out, and we will continue be able to find food and gas. If anyone has a farm we can work at on the way through, please let us know. Or any other weird job, too.
